Аспай – это сообщество художников и писателей, которое содействует связям между Востоком и Западом в области литературы и искусства. Это выражается в форме живого диалога, в организации художественных и книжных выставок, докладов, симпозиумов, концертов, литературных чтений, перформансов, а также в публикациях художественных произведений и каталогов. Как неформальное объединение Аспай существует с середины 80-х годов, как общественная некоммерческая организация с местопребыванием в Бохуме - с 1996 года.

deutsch — In Zusammenarbeit mit dem Museum für zeitgenössische Kunst, Odessa, hat Aspei 2018 die Ausstellung POLYLOG realisieren können. Wie wir alle wissen, befindet sich die Ukraine zur Zeit in einer sehr schwierigen Lage. Der militärische Angriff auf die Ukraine ist zugleich ein Angriff auf demokratische Werte und damit auch auf die Werte, die die Unabhängigkeit von Kunst und Kultur garantieren. Darum liegt es uns am Herzen, hier auf den Spendenaufruf des Museums zur Unterstützung der Künstler:innen und Kulturschaffenden insbesondere aus dem vielstimmigen Gebiet von Odessa aufmerksam zu machen und ihn weiterzuleiten.
english — In collaboration with the Museum of Contemporary Art in Odessa, Aspei had the opportunity to realise the exhibition POLYLOG in 2018. As we all know Ukraine is currently in a very difficult situation. The attack against Ukraine is at the same time an attack on democratic values and thus also on the values that guarantee the independence of art and culture. That is why it is so important for us to draw attention to and pass on the museum's appeal for donations to support artists and cultural workers, especially from the many-voiced Odessa region.

In connection with the full-scale Russian military invasion of Ukraine and threats to the lives of civilians, the Museum of Contemporary Art in Odessa and the Charity Foundation "Miloserdie Victor" open a new area - to help artists, curators and cultural workers of contemporary arts from the affected regions of Ukraine: Kyiv, Chernihiv, Sumy, Kherson, Kharkiv, Mykolaiv, Donetsk, Luhansk regions.
Types of assistance:
Relocation — assistance with moving from the combat zone to a safe place to ensure a basic standard of living and security;
Residence — search for art residences in EU and in Ukraine in order to continue professional activities in safe conditions;
Financial — one-time financial assistance to provide basic necessities of life, travel to a safe place or shelter;
Consultation — informational support to resolve urgent issues and, if necessary, further support.
*—Applications will be considered every day. We will inform you about the decision within 1-2 days. Financial support will be provided to artists, curators, art managers, researchers from non-governmental organizations and institutions, and if funds are available.
The “Miloserdie Victor” foundation was founded in 2005. Named after Victor Morokhovsky (1946-1999), the founder of intellectual games in Odessa and Captain "What? Where? When?"
